Higher Education Commission will give free Evo internet devices to eligible students

ISLAMABAD: To facilitate the students with endless internet connectivity, Higher Education Commission of Pakistan will award free PTCL EVO devices to 1, 00,000 eligible students under Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme.
HEC and PTCL has signed an agreement according which, White labeled EVO Wireless devices would be provided to students by HEC on special monthly rates and customized terms and conditions.
HEC shall purchase a total of 100,000 devices and make the payment against the device cost to PTCL as per agreement. HEC-EvoEVO devices will be delivered to HEC in batches in three months; also they will be given to the designated universities by the PTCL. PTCL would also have the right to block any connection if found to be resold or to be purchasable in open market.
It is being considered a great move by HEC that will allow students to get facilitated by portable experience of internet connectivity with their portable laptops.
